Meet Our Counselors

It’s important to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with and that works with the types of concerns you’re having. With this in mind, take a minute to read about each of our therapists.  When you find someone you think might be a good fit for you, reach out to us to schedule a brief “get to know you” phone call. We want to make sure you feel comfortable with your decision.

To help you make an informed decision, jot down a few questions that you’d like to ask the therapist. If you don’t have any questions in mind, here are some ideas:

How comfortable are you with people of my demographic?

What if we have different beliefs, will that interfere with my therapy?

What will my sessions look like?

Hello! I'm Dr. Sandy Stillo, but you can call me Sandy. I see clients in person in Dallas and also by Telehealth if you're in Texas. The majority of my clients are adults who are feeling trapped in unhealthy relationships, facing life changes, and managing various types of stress in their lives. The common thread through all the clients I've seen over the years is trauma. Trauma isn't always what we think it is. What I've learned is that no matter how it's labeled, my clients know when something isn't right, even if they can't put words to it. What I love about my clients is how curious they are about themselves. It takes courage to come back week after week and work on the hard stuff. I'm honored to do this work with them. More about me: I earned my Doctoral Degree in Counseling at Texas A&M University-Commerce. I'm a licensed professional counselor and a Texas State Board Approved professional counselor supervisor (TX license #63361). My approach to counseling is humanistic and relationship oriented. I have special training to provide EMDR (standard, DeTUR, and IFS protocols), Humanistic Sandtray therapy, and Child-Centered play therapy.
